Bays Brewery Toasts 10 Years of Award-winning Ales.

Torbay-based Bays Brewery is toasting its 10th anniversary in style with the news that it has been awarded a top accolade for one of its multiple award-winning ales.

Its popular Devon Dumpling beer has been voted CAMRA South West Winner 2017, with the tasty tipple now set to compete for the title of Champion Beer of Britain 2018.  Among the most prestigious beer competitions in the world, Bays is set to go head to head with regional winners from across the country for the ultimate beer accolade.

To add to its awards’ streak, the brewery’s latest creation Devon Rock Craft Lager has also been shortlisted as Product of the Year in the 2017 ‘Devon Life Awards’.

The news comes in the same month that Bays Brewery revives one of its first and most successful ales to date to mark a decade of being on the beer scene.  First launched in 2007, Bays Breaker makes a welcome return to taps this month and provides discerning drinks with a tasty trip down memory lane.

The popular beer is just one of many that the team have brewed over the last 10 years, including three permanent ales Gold, Topsail and Devon Dumpling, plus seasonal ales.

Its latest offering Devon Rock Craft Lager has also taken the pub scene by storm since its launch earlier this year, earning it silver at the prestigious 2017 Regional SIBA Awards.

The family run brewery was launched by family members Will Freeland, Mark Salmon and Peter Salmon in June 2007 with a 20-barrel brew plant being installed in Aspen Way, Paignton.

Its first two brews, Best and Gold, proved a hit among pub goers seeking a Torbay tipple to quench their thirst, and a string of other ales quickly followed suit.

In addition to its award-winning beers, Bays champions the local community by sponsoring a wealth of Torbay events including the Occombe Beer Festival, Dartmouth Music festival, Brixham Pirate Festival, Fishstock, Brixfest and many more.

The brewery has also raised more than £12,000 for wildlife conservation to date through its work with Paignton Zoo, for which is has created three limited-edition ales including its most recent Crocod’ale which was launched in May this year.

Bays Brewerys' commitment to top quality ales remains stronger than ever and there are exciting plans ahead for the family run business so watch this space!
