Salcombe Distilling Co. launched their first gin ‘Start Point’ and opened their waterside distillery and bar ‘The Boathouse’ in 2016 in the beautiful coastal town of Salcombe. The following year saw the opening of their Gin School and launch of their unique gin delivery service to visiting yachts, whilst Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’ won many prestigious awards.

Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’ is a ‘London Dry Gin’ which is exceptionally smooth, distinct and complex. It is distilled with 13 fine botanicals hand sourced from around the world, including Macedonian juniper, English coriander seed and fresh citrus from historical trading routes once served by the famous Salcombe fruit schooners.

‘Start Point’ is citrus led with classic juniper notes and is balanced with warming spice and a lengthy finish. It is so smooth that it is perfect served on its own over ice or with a premium tonic water accompanied by a slice of ruby red grapefruit to complement the rich and warm citrus notes.
Awards include:

The Distillery and Bar is home to ‘Provident’, our striking 450l copper pot still which stands proud behind glass doors for all to see. Visitors are welcome to sample Salcombe Gin, find out about how it is made, watch the distillers at work or simply relax in the bar. There is also a shop giving visitors an opportunity to take a little bit of Salcombe home with them.

Located next door is our Gin School; a distilling laboratory for adults, which offers the ultimate gin experience with our distillers to create your own 70cl bottle of gin. Guests learn about distillation and how to produce a well-balanced and harmonious gin before taking charge of a beautiful mini copper still and choosing from 100+ botanicals to create their unique gin recipe. They name and bottle their unique creation and take it home in one our exclusive Gin School presentation boxes. The experience concludes back at the bar where it's time to relax and enjoy the view whilst tasting the newly created gin and experimenting with a range of garnishes and tonics.
